SK4 Straight Blade Hand Plane
Since 1900, Stanley and other tool manufacturers have made over 20 variants of this hand plane model. Unlike the original version, our model is made of stainless steel to permanently protect all areas of the handle from rust. The hand plane can be used in all types of workshops where curved parts are processed, from shipbuilding and staircases to arch and chair and furniture making. Handle slots at the front and back near the blade allow for precise guidance
Allows comfortable planing of wide panels thanks to handle slots under the handles
Tapered tapered stopper for full surface contact pressure without chips clogging the tool, simplifying rework
The development of these planes is based on Herdim planes. They have been making them for decades for luthiers, who place a high value on extreme precision and perfect work. Solid, stress-relieving annealed cast steel brushes* with finely lapped soles and right-angle ground cheeks are as much a sign of quality as the blades, which are a minimum of 3 mm thick and made of SK4 steel (61 HRC). The easy-to-adjust planer feed allows for simple corrections, while the ergonomic, tried-and-true grips and polished fins fit comfortably in the hand. Handles made of local red beech wood.
