AR Curved Blade Planer
This hand plane from the DICTUM series has a mouth opening of 0.5-0.8 mm when adjusted for fine shavings. This makes it an indispensable tool for bow making as well as for cutting frames and rounding edges in furniture making. Radius of the round version: 40 mm.
Precisely adjustable depth feed
Comfortable, large wooden handle for easy tool control
Tapered, sharpened stopper for full surface contact pressure without shavings clogging the tool, simplifying rework
The development of these planes is based on the Herdim planes. They have been making them for decades for luthiers, who place great value on extreme precision and perfect workmanship. The solid, stress-relieving annealed cast steel brushes* with finely lapped soles and right-angle ground cheeks are as much a sign of quality as the blades, which are a minimum of 3 mm thick and made from SK4 steel (61 HRC). The easy-to-adjust planer feed allows for simple corrections, while the ergonomic, hard-wearing grips and polished fins fit comfortably in the hand. Handles made from local red beech wood.
