AR Straight Blade Planer
This hand planer has a mouth opening of 0.5-0.8 mm when set for fine shavings. This makes it an indispensable tool for bow making, as well as for cutting frames and rounding edges in furniture making.
Precisely adjustable depth feed
Comfortable large wooden handle for easy tool control
Tapered sharp stopper for full surface contact pressure without shavings clogging the tool, simplifying rework
The development of these planes is based on Herdim planes. They have been making them for decades for luthiers, who place a high value on extreme precision and perfect work. The solid cast steel planes*, subjected to stress-relieving annealing, with finely lapped soles and right-angle ground cheeks, are as much a sign of quality as the blades, which are at least 3 mm thick and made of SK4 steel (61 HRC). Easy-to-adjust planer feed allows for simple corrections, while ergonomic, hard-wearing grips and polished fins fit comfortably in the hand. Handles made from local red beech wood.
