Set of 2 planes (No. 4½ and No. 6)
With these two types of planes, you are well prepared for most of a carpenter's planing tasks. A major advantage is the identical blade width of the planes, which allows the blades to be exchanged (less investment in buying additional plane blades made of specific steels for different applications).
Consisting of one No. 4½ and one No. 6 plane
The development of these planes is based on Herdim planes. They have been making them for decades for luthiers, who place great value on extreme precision and perfect workmanship. The solid, stress-relieving annealed cast steel planes* with finely lapped soles and right-angle ground cheeks are as much a sign of quality as the blades, which are at least 3 mm thick and made of SK4 steel (61 HRC). Easy to adjust iron feed allows for simple corrections, while ergonomic, hard-wearing grips and polished fins fit comfortably in the hand. Handles made from local red beech wood.
