Rabbet Hand Plane

This plane is ideal for cutting rabbets or trimming tenons to fit. End grain can also be worked thanks to the low cutting angle of 12°. A 25° bevel results in a cutting angle of 37°. Fine adjustment mechanism for the blade, non-adjustable mouth. Comes with a jute/cotton blended plane case with drawstring.

The development of these planes is based on the Herdim planes. They have been making them for decades for luthiers, who place great value on extreme precision and perfect workmanship. The solid, stress-relieving annealed cast steel planes* with finely lapped soles and right-angle ground cheeks are as much a sign of quality as the blades, which are at least 3 mm thick and made of SK4 steel (61 HRC). Easy-to-adjust planer feed allows for easy corrections, while ergonomic, proven grips and polished fins fit comfortably in the hand. Handles made from local red beech wood.
