The STRATOS FU-230 was developed in cooperation with experienced woodturners, including the well-known master woodturner Alfred Baumann.
The goal was to create a mid-priced lathe with exceptional features. This machine combines the latest innovations with the tried and tested. It is a lathe that is equally suitable for beginners, advanced users, professionals and artists and offers optimal value for money.
The STRATOS FU-230 has been the best-selling DRECHSELMEISTER foot machine for several years and has now proven itself in thousands of workshops. It has been continuously developed and updated over the years and now offers even more utility and convenience!

The main focus during the development of the STRATOS FU-230 was on the following points:

Particularly smooth operation when turning bowls, vases, long wood and turning due to the solid gray cast iron construction.
Wide and heavy cast feet for optimum stability and best resistance to vibrations
Exactly aligned tips as the best prerequisite for turning writing implements, turning miniatures and longitudinal wood, and for clean drilling results
Wide rotational speed range on both pulleys; in this way, a large part of the parts can be machined without changing the stage of the belt
Powerful motor with frequency converter, especially advantageous when turning bowls
Extremely easy to use: headstock can be rotated and moved, quick conversion for external turning, additional bed (optional) can be installed as an external turning device on various mounting points
Comfortable working thanks to mobile control box with magnetic function
High center height for machining large diameter workpieces
