CROWN Bowl Turning Gouges M42 / CRYO "Franz Keilhofer" SET, 4-Piece

This new set, featuring a ready-to-use double bevel grind, was developed in collaboration with CROWN TOOLS from England and professional woodturner Franz Keilhofer.

All gouges are made of high-quality, cryogenically hardened M-42 steel for even greater edge retention!

They feature black ash wood handles (360 mm) with milled ends for optimal grip and an attractive copper ferrule. The set comes in a practical storage box with a black insert.

Four bowl turning gouges of varying thicknesses, with special grinds perfectly suited to every bowl turning situation:

6/9 mm bowl turning gouge M42/CRYO with standard grind / double bevel
for the final cut, for difficult woods, and very thin-walled workpieces.

10/13 mm bowl turning gouge M42/CRYO with "fingernail grind" / double bevel
Universally applicable for small and medium-sized bowls (also for thin-walled workpieces).

13/16 mm bowl turning gouge M42/CRYO with "fingernail grind" / double bevel
Ideal for quickly removing large amounts of material, the first choice for giving the outer or inner shape its rough form, or for flattening the outer shape before grinding.

13/16 mm bowl turning gouge M42/CRYO with standard grind and very obtuse cutting angle
This allows the bottom third of the bowl's inner surface to be cleanly cut with a close-fitting bevel, even in deep bowls.
