NOVA VOYAGER DVR 18" Floor Standing Drill Press
The Voyager is a floor standing drill press with a revolutionary concept and unique ease of use when drilling in different materials!
It is equipped with a 2 HP motor and a CPU with LCD display, this is the system proven in NOVA DVR lathes. "DVR" stands for "digital variable reluctance" which means that the computer constantly monitors the motor's rotating rotor to adjust the strength of the magnetic field (needed to keep speed and torque constant) at any time.
The motor starts smoothly and the solid steel rotor has no wire windings, brushes, permanent magnets or other electrical connections to moving parts that can cause overheating and wear during use.
There are no dirty pulleys or drive belts.
The speed required for the job is communicated to the computer by turning a knob and can be continuously adjusted between 50 and 5500 rpm.
The computer makes precise adjustments and keeps the chuck speed constant.
The DVR unit continuously maximises torque efficiency.
As a user, simply click on the speed table on the screen to indicate the type and size of drill bit used, as well as the material used and the diameter. The DVR unit then sets the correct speed. The drilling depth can also be set on the screen.
