The STRATOS XL, which has been tried and tested in countless workshops, combines high weight, stability and power with precision and great user-friendliness.
The goal when developing this lathe was to build a solid and smooth-running machine that, thanks to its versatility, offers beginners as well as advanced and professional woodturners countless possibilities in workpiece design. The STRATOS XL is just as well suited for turning large, heavy workpieces as it is for turning writing implements, miniatures and longitudinal wood. In the meantime, it has proven itself in many woodturning workshops throughout Europe and has recently been upgraded.
NOW NEW: with 2 sockets on the housing of the frequency converter, 2-stage braking time switch, trapezoidal thread spindle in the 150 mm quill (with quick-change quill system*) and solid adjustable feet with M20 thread!

Some highlights of the STRATOS XL:

High weight and smooth running thanks to the heavy cast construction (bench bed, headstock, tailstock, substructure and lower part of the hand rest made of gray cast iron)
Powerful 3 HP motor and frequency converter (FU)
Large, infinitely variable speed ranges on all 3 belt levels - most of the turning work can be done on the middle level without changing the belt
Center height of 280 mm standard, when mounting the additional bed in the middle of the bench bed, an additional 50 mm center height (= 330 mm)
7 mounting points for the additional bed 500 mm (combined bed extension/external rotating device), mounting options on the left, right and in the middle of the bench bed, as well as on the side and front of the cast legs
Ergonomic work thanks to the swiveling and sliding headstock and optional extra bed
Large turning projects with turning diameters of up to 1,000 mm can be realized if the optionally available additional bed is installed as an external turning device
Tailstock quill with 150 mm travel and trapezoidal thread spindle for smooth and fast quill advance
Housing for frequency converter with main switch, 2x 230 V sockets and 2-stage switch for presetting the braking time (slow/standard), with the longer braking time, large and unbalanced workpieces can be safely braked
Heavy and wide cast legs, with solid adjustable feet with M20 thread
Spindle connection M33 x 3.5 with ASR (Euro) safety groove (this allows chucks and faceplates with ASR groove to be secured against possible slipping using a clamping ring)
Headstock tray equipped with magnet for safe storage of small parts such as screws etc.
Quill quick-change system on the tailstock (prepared for the use of an ER25 drilling quill*)
