Modular balancing aid with 2 functions:

Function 1: Spindle extension

Do you need more clearance from the spindle – e.g., for a bowl with a natural edge? Then use the modular balancing aid without weight plates. This will extend the spindle by approximately 70 mm.

The spindle extension features two ASR safety catches, but can also be secured conventionally using a threaded pin.

Function 2: Balancing Aid

For securely attaching a chuck or faceplate with an M33 x 3.5 mm connection.
The two shims compensate for the eccentric weight of the wood, reducing vibrations during machining and improving the smooth running of the lathe.
Equipped with two balancing discs with a diameter of 150 mm (neutral), the lathe's imbalance can be compensated for up to 2 kg.
Balancing weights are optionally available in two additional sizes (Item DDZ-4367: diameter approx. 150 mm, approx. 2,400 g, Item DDZ-4368: diameter approx. 290 mm, approx. 3,500 g).
With an M33 x 3.5 mm threaded connection on both sides.
Balancing the system on the lathe:

Once the workpiece is mounted on the lathe and securely tightened, loosen the Remove the drive belt completely from the pulley. This will cause the greater weight to pull downwards.
Loosen the set screws and lock nuts of the balancing plates and adjust them gradually until the system no longer rotates on its own, i.e., it is balanced.
CAUTION!: Chip removal also changes the imbalance. Regular checking and readjustment is generally necessary!
